Cairo + Bliss Candles & Teas
Effective Date: March 15, 2026

Our candles are handcrafted in small batches to create moments of comfort, atmosphere, and ritual. Proper candle care ensures the best fragrance experience and extends the life of your candle.

First Burn Matters
The first burn is the most important. Allow your candle to burn long enough for the melted wax to reach the edges of the vessel. This usually takes 2–4 hours, depending on the size of the candle. This helps prevent tunneling and ensures an even burn for the life of the candle.

Trim Your Wick
Before each burn, trim the wick to approximately ¼ inch.

This helps:

- maintain a steady flame
- reduce soot and smoke
- prevent wick mushrooming
- extend burn time

A trimmed wick creates a cleaner, more even fragrance experience.

Keep the Wax Pool Clean
Keep the melted wax pool free of debris such as wick trimmings, dust, or matches. Foreign materials in the wax may affect the candle’s performance and burn quality.

Burn Time
For best results, do not burn candles for more than 3–4 hours at a time. Allow the candle to cool and the wax to solidify completely before relighting.

Wick Position
If the wick shifts during burning, gently recenter the wick while the wax is still soft. Keeping the wick centered helps prevent uneven burning and overheating of the container.

Candle Placement
Always place candles on a stable, heat-resistant surface away from drafts.

Keep candles away from:

- open windows
- fans
- vents
- curtains or flammable objects

Drafts can cause uneven burning or excessive smoke.

Extinguishing Your Candle
Use a candle snuffer or gently blow out the flame to extinguish your candle. Avoid splashing melted wax.

Container Temperature
The candle container may become warm during use. Allow the candle to cool completely before touching or moving it.

When to Stop Burning
Discontinue use when approximately ½ inch of wax remains at the bottom of the vessel. Burning beyond this point may cause the container to overheat.

Safety Reminder
For safe enjoyment:

- Never leave a burning candle unattended
- Keep away from children and pets
- Always burn candles within sight
- Do not move candles while wax is melted

Extending the Ritual
Once your candle is finished, the vessel can often be cleaned and reused for décor or storage.

At Cairo + Bliss, we believe scent is more than fragrance—it is atmosphere, memory, and a ritual of comfort. Caring for your candle helps ensure that every burn delivers the full Cairo + Bliss experience.
